Update: Thanksgiving 2004

Oh, Thanksgiving. It couldn't have gone any smoother. My family was great. Drèon got along with everyone. My parents welcomed him back. He helped my sister with dinner. He was charming and polite. They were civil and warm. He said that we all had a "wicked" sense of humor. I think he had a little trouble keeping up with us. I never actually realized until I was home this past time that we (my family and I) all have this ability to finish each others sentences. It's truly amazing.

All in all, I think he had a great time. My family seems to really like him. I'm grateful...

Thanks Missy for the support as always!!!

What else? Drèon's friend S is coming into town tonight and will be here through the weekend. I have to work commencement on Sunday. What else? Oh yeah, I go see my son soon! I miss him so much. Well, I gotta run.

Turkey Day will never be the same...

Okay, in all honesty this is the situation: Dreon is at work and I'm at his apartment trying to get familiar with his Macintosh. Even his home-row keys (?) are different. The familiar bumps are on the "d" key and "k" key (the middle fingers, not index) and of course this could be his keyboard and not the fact that it's a Mac. So with that, and after having a few...what's the assessment? Utter confusion but total anticipation of his return.

Cutest thing he did this week? Okay, if you don't want to hear complete "love story" or "cheese factor 28" then stop here and when you see the bold start you can continue to read again. Okay, we had really bad weather this week. I mean like low-water crossings where blocked off, forbidding cars to go through. Anyway, during one of these awful rainstorms he calls saying he will not be able to come over...my thoughts..."shit"...but I understand. I go to sleep. Next thing, I get a call that awakens me. "Where are you?" I immediately recognize the voice. "In my bed, where are you?" "Come to your door," he says. "No way," I respond. And of course who is there? It was completely unexpected and beautiful all baked together! He made it through the storm. I pictured him dodging tree limbs, swerving around down power lines...you know, but truth be told-the rain let up. Never the less, this is the reason I love this bloke! Start So, here I am. Oh, oh, oh, guest who is escorting me home for Thanksgiving? I'm completely nervous and excited all at the same time. If there is a Lord...now would be the time I ask for his help. If Dreon doesn't understand the meaning of Dysfunctional he will after this... He's home, goodbye!!

JD's Birthday the day after the election, notice Tom Arnold on the set behind us...and the empty Dos Equis glasses compared to the full water glasses...there's something wrong with that Posted by Hello

Love this and of course it's from a website in England...

I often think if I could go back and experience moments in time that have so amazed or confused or educated us I would. Here are just some of the moments I would've loved to experience in person (in no particular order):

1. Being at the Daily Plaza on November 1963

2. Studio 54 any night back in the 70's

3. The very moment The Beatles took LSD

4. The original Woodstock

5. On the bus with Rosa Parks

6. Any of Grace Vanderbilt's Parties

7. Capote's Black and White Ball

8. Visit any of Warhol's "Warehouses"

9. The day (hopefully at night during a lightning storm) Henson conceived Grover

10. The night Capote said he was possessed and wrote Other Voices Other Rooms

11. Witness what Mr. Key saw while writing The Star Spangled Banner

"Take 10 hours of sleep and call me in the morning"

I feel much better today. Still pissed, but other wise a whole lot better. Went downtown yesterday evening to celebrate JD's birthday at Roaring Fork. We had a great time. The best part was catching the Bush/election protestors march down Congress Ave. The best sign was held up by this woman that read: "The only Bush I trust is my own!" Too funny.

I was back at my apartment at about 8. I called Drèon. Fell on my bed and woke up at 2 a.m. to piss, get out of my clothes and into my PJs and turn the light off I left on in the kitchen. I must've needed those 10 hours of sleep...so yea, I feel a lot better. Thanks BR, DG and the others who succeed in making me feel better.

Damn, I must be getting use to having Drèon next to me in bed because I kept reaching for him last night...

Oh, love this...

I need to do this...

I need to get this out. I think if I vent a little, I'll feel better. I didn't sleep very well last night once getting the news from Fox and NBC and reading all the threads on-line about Bush taking Ohio. I just want to bitch a little. If you are over 18 YOU should be voting, no fucking excuse. If you are gay and over 18, you REALLY should be voting!!! I have talked to a least three people in the last 24 hours who are over 18 and gay and didn't vote. That is ridiculous. I was depressed to hear that the youth vote that everyone was saying was going to be at a record high, was in reality not high at all. This makes no fucking sense to me!!! If they were giving away gift cards to the gap or old navy at the polls, I'm sure as hell the youth vote would've showed up. It's time to be responsible (I know a little too late). I mean there are men and women that are fucking dyeing that are the same age, but because your parents can afford college you're not there so you could care fucking less. SHIT!!!!!

Not sure what to say, but Ohio sucks! I'm going to bed...

GO FUCKING VOTE, please!!!

Please go out and vote today if you haven't already. I haven't blogged about the election much, but trust me I'm scared. I'm genuinely scared shitless that Bush may be re-elected. I think the reporting of long lines and the huge turn out is wonderful, but I really can't express how I feel about all this...just go vote
