Tip of the Day: Short Skirt + a Drill = Wad of Trouble

Go Jay! I 'm so glad he won last night on Project Runway!!! And I love me some Parker Posie. I watched the season finale with some of SM's friends last night where they were also celebrating M's birthday. Great dinner, fabulous wine and their house is just gorgeous. Their backyard has steps leading up to a patio that looks over the city. I felt like I could reach up and touch the moon and stars.

Before being picked up to go the party I phoned Nicholas and we had a great conversation about being separated and we both discussed how we felt. I haven't told him I'm moving closer to him yet because I believe it's too soon to tell him. He is such a great kid! His mother has done a wonderful job! I miss him so much and having that conversation with him reassured me that I do want to be near him!!!!

My crepe myrtle is blooming right next to my big window by my bed. I love it!!!

I'll leave you with a great story JC'S told me about his Friend J (who we had the farewell party for last weekend). Anyway, she was on a ladder at work using a drill and lost her grip on it and started to fumbled with it. While do this, she slipped off the ladder and the drill somehow went under her skirt causing it to catch her panties....the drill (still on) tore her panties right off!!! She had to be taken to the hospital and have two stitches on her honey pot!!!

SXSW is coming and maybe Simon!!!!

I'm so ready for it to start. I'm purchasing my wristband this Thursday from Waterloo with SM!! Here's a list of bands performing, it's pretty damn impressive.

I don't have much else to say (I have SXSW on the mind).

Oh shit, I almost forgot...I might be getting a dog!! A 6 month miniature schnauzer named Simon!!! My friend JC has a friend and she's moving and he needs a home. I've been thinking about getting one. It's too prefect.

"Keep, Keep it together..."

I had a wonderful family-filled weekend. I needed it. When I got to my parent's they tried to pull off a surprise birthday welcome. With the lights out and cars parked out front, it was hard not to know what was going on. I played along. It was soooo sweet of them. They had two different cakes and bar-b-que ready. I got a grover watch Key chain from my sister and a stereo system from my parents. I love them. We stayed up and chatted.

Saturday, my sister her husband and my nephew and I all went to different garage sales. That afternoon we added my parents and had lunch at Dos Hermanos followed by shopping in Pearland. It was sort of weird seeing my father shop for khakis for himself. I believe it was a first. My mother has always shopped for him so to see him in a department store was just weird. My mother mentioned he's been going out a lot lately. He use to just stay home and sit in his chair.

Yesterday, was lazy day. Adam cooked a huge breakfast and we sat around reading the paper and talking about current events. My sister and I helped my Mother rearrange things in her bedroom. And then after a great dinner I finally drove home. I love driving by myself at night...the cool air...the loud music...I think and reflect on everything. It was nice.

Have a great week!

"So you say it's your birthday, well it's my birthday too.."

Oh my another year. I'm at work and I'm having so much fun! First, it started with my parent's ritual early morning birthday call. It was very expected but extremely nice. I love my parents. Then my sister got on and gave me her wishes. Then I hang up and my phone rings again. My nephew wanted to wish me a happy birthday. So sweet!!! I get to work and JG has decorated my desk with balloons, crepe paper, and confettii. I think "oh shit, what have I just gotten myself into"...I should've never made JG hit a pinata for her birthday. Next, SM brings birthday breakfast tacos in. He is so sweet. He had his suit on because later he was going to his Grandfather's Funeral. For lunch I'm taken to PF Changs. Then at 2 I get called into the Moffett Library in our building where everyone is waiting with two ice cream cakes, Groucho eyeglasses (you know with the mustache and nose) and a set of "Bubba teeth." I was instructed to wear them while they sang happy birthday...I know laugh your head off, everyone else did.

All in all, not too bad. Now I gotta drive home and lord knows what my family has in store. Stay tuned...

And have a wonderful weekend!!!

Plain & Simple & Somber & Sober

Had a somber, but very healthy evening yesterday. I knew I wasn't going to do anything giving the fact that I didn't have a Valentine. And trust, I was completely okay with that. I planned to just sit on my sofa and watch Everwood and Medium while completely vegging. Until SM called to say his Grandfather just passed and that he was on his way back from San Antonio.

Well, I'm glad he accepted my offer to come over because we had an enjoyable evening of just hanging out watching TV. To be honest, I needed a friend as much as he did last night.

Not too bad for a Valentine's Day...quality time with a good friend! Hope yours was just as enjoyable!!!

I'm going home this weekend, my plans to go to Dallas desolved once I realized the people going would more than likely have put me six feet under (done with that shit). I haven't been home since Christmas and I miss my Momma and Sister.

Stones, sticks, and Non-melting Snow

I've had to do some soul searching. I feel like I've been doing a lot of that lately. I'm no longer with DP, in fact it's the best thing for me right now - to be with no one. In the last few weeks I've had to dig deep inside and kinda feel around for what is real and what it is I want. I know that I don't need a boyfriend. I know I need to work on communicating (keeping in touch) with the ones I love. I know I absolutely love my sister, no wait, I already knew that! I know I've made some mistakes with friends and not being there or being distant for whatever reason. I know that the people that don't understand will take their jabs and I will feel them. I know I shouldn't allow it to hurt because they DO NOT understand me. Bottom line, I'm working on me.

Lighter news: Friday, had happy hour with the Lunch Bunch at Vivo's (they give women roses when you leave...I took one). Went over to JC's to help clean for his party. We didn't clean, we drank. Too fun. My new nickname is ShmannyMOE. I went to the UT basketball game on Saturday with SM and his brother. Too fun. After the game they had a concert with Bob Schneider. He put on a really great show. UT plans to feature a local artist after every home game. Later that night, JC had a party for a friend leaving for San Francisco so we attended. Meet a lot of fun and interesting people. Later, we went to an erotic art show down south. It had some really cool pieces. Unfortunately, we couldn't bid on them because it had stopped right before we got there. I wish we could've bid on the servers...they were wearing next to nothing and extremely hot.

Sunday, went over to SM's to watch the Grammy's and Desperate Housewives. Later we went for Amy's Ice Cream...Mexican Vanilla...yumFUCKINGyummy!!

I'm Back!!!...
